Mission of the Department
The mission of the Department of Forestry is to promote excellence in forestry education, research, and community engagement with a focus on the sustainable management of forest ecosystems, biodiversity conservation, and socio-economic upliftment of forest-dependent communities. Key objectives of the department’s mission include:
  1. Imparting Quality Education: To provide comprehensive and interdisciplinary education in forestry that equips students with scientific knowledge, technical skills, and ethical values necessary for effective forest resource management.
  2. Promoting Research and Innovation: To encourage research on forest ecology, biodiversity, climate change, and traditional knowledge systems, particularly in the context of the unique ecological and cultural landscape of Bastar.
