Established with the vision to promote excellence in forestry education and research, the department caters to the needs of the ecologically rich yet sensitive Bastar region, which is known for its vast forest cover and tribal populations whose lives are deeply intertwined with forest ecosystems.
The department offers undergraduate program in forestry, focusing on both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Its curriculum is designed to align with national environmental policies and sustainable development goals. Students are exposed to diverse subjects such as forest ecology, biodiversity conservation, wildlife management, forest economics, remote sensing, and forest law and policy.
