Walking with the pace of the industry requirements so as to cater to the needs of the society, the department has been updating its curriculum from time to time. At inception of the department a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA) and Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) was started in the year 2005. Later on the B.Sc. (Computer Science) replaced in the year 2010. The year 2015 brought in a new era for computer professionals with the launch of B.Sc.(Information technology), a highly professional, Bachelor Degree.
3. Mission
To keep pace with the up-and-coming trends in Computer Science and Technology.
I. To strengthen the computer literacy missions of the Government and Tribal and backward area
II. Encouragement the students of yesterday into resolute builders of the future.
III. Producing a class of computer professionals.
IV. To make the forthcoming generations aware of computer education.
V. To impart technical and interpersonal skills to the students.
VI. To produce computer professionals who can face not only the present but also future challenges of I.T. Industry.

2. Computer Laboratory
To provide a rich hands-on experience to the students, 1 number of state-of-the art computer laboratories has been developed to take care of all the needs of the department.
Seating capacity of Computer Lab 1: 40
These laboratories have the latest high quality hardware matched with the rich blend of latest software.
The laboratories have two platforms namely, Windows 98, LINUX, thus providing all types of operating systems to the students.

Computer Labs are equipped with latest communication and multimedia teaching aids such as LCD projectors.

6. Detail five major Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Challenges (SWOC) of the department.
Strength: Managed three programmes like BCA, B.Sc.(Comp.Sc.), B.Sc.(IT)and PGDCA successfully with more than 400 passed out students & placed in reputed. State & Central Govt organization & public sector companies.
Weakness: Less no. of faculty and lab equipments. The Three year BCA programme is not attracting students, due to a no. of private institutions offering the course. Hence, degradation in the student enrolment in BCA.
Opportunities: Looking forward to become a part of multidisciplinary research project of National and International level.
Challenges: To introduce fulltime two/three year Master Degree Course, Growth of Computer Lab., Library Infrastructure and Research facility.
Future plans of the department. The Department plans to open Masters degree programme in Comp.Sc./IT , Specialize IT research Laboratory to research by collaborating with other reputed institutions/ IT companies.
